Furniture series, "Special Effect," incorporates the repetitive rhythm of architectural, civil engineering, and structural engineering giant frame works into furniture-scale designs. In Japanese we call “Special Effect” as “Tokusatsu”. Tokusatsu is our one of the famous film genre and they usually use small scaled city model to film the Gigantic monsters and heroes.

The way the structure of the building set overturns during the battle between the giant hero and the monster in the tokusatsu film is reminiscent of Ball's concept of "freely changing the direction in which the furniture is placed and thereby changing its purpose,”. Thus expecting users themselves to become a giant hero or monster to, move, roll, and control the buildings (furnitures) to create their own comfortable space.

All three types of furniture are assembled from boards with slits and secured with special joints, allowing them to be disassembled and transported in a flat state for moving or other purposes.
